Crest for Chest: How one of our employees donating football shirts to Africa idea is changing lives

At Kings Group, we take pride in the dedication and passion of our employees, both in their professional roles and in the way they contribute to the wider community. One fantastic example is Harvey Gannon, our Warehouse Manager, whose simple but powerful idea of donating football shirts to Africa, is now making a real difference to young footballers thousands of miles away. Find out more about this inspiring initiative…

Like many of us, Harvey has accumulated a collection of football shirts over the years. One sleepless night, he realised that he, and probably many others, had more than they needed. Instead of letting them gather dust, he thought, why not put them to good use? And so, Crest for Chest was born.

Harvey wasted no time. He secured the domain name Crest for Chest and reached out to Football Manager, a game he had played since childhood. Thanks to some existing contacts in their media team, he started discussions around how they could help. Just two months later, the first batch of shirts had already been sent out and delivered directly to those who would benefit the most.

The first recipients were the Ghanaian Hammers, a girls’ football team in the remote village of Okyeman, Ghana, who proudly support West Ham. For them, receiving proper football shirts wasn’t just about having a kit to wear, it was a symbol of connection, support, and encouragement from people thousands of miles away.

Harvey’s next goal in line with donating football shirts to Africa,  is to bring more football clubs on board, expanding the initiative and getting even more shirts to those who need them.

At Kings Group, we couldn’t be prouder of Harvey’s selfless efforts. His determination to make a difference embodies the kind of people we employ. Individuals who care, go above and beyond, and use their skills and passions to help others.
